Examen de alemán - German exam
*******************************

I survived the Oktoberfest! - ¡Sobreviví al Oktoberfest!

I think comparing is not worth...
***********************************

London 2009 - Londres 2009
It had been for a long time since I last went to London, and I wanted to do something after the Summer holidays at home, having the impression of having some "real holidays" (I mean, not just being at home), so I spent last weekend there. And it was very nice! I spent a real nice time, and I really enjoyed the city. I don't know if I'd like to live there, but I think it offers so many different things, so many options and it's so different from "European" cities, that it's at least a great place to spend some time. I was basically walking around, but I also attended a musical ("We will rock you", with Queen's music). The hotel was also great, I couldn't stop eating bacon and all that fatty typical British food, jeje. I think I even gained some weight in just a couple of days! Anyways, a very nice weekend and something to repeat from time to time.

Semana familiar - Family week
********************************
My parents came to Munich last week, and also my brother for three days. My parents decided to come back by train again, about 20 hours of journey... I don't say anything... My brother was more "inteligent" and he flew directly from Bilbao. The general strike in Bilbao on that day didn't affect his flight.
When my parents arrived they were very tired (on Tuesday my father did not even leave my apartment!) but I also fest extremely tired, since I still feel not completely good after having been sick for so many weeks. Well, anyways, I did my best for them to have fun, which actually is not so difficult with them! We went to Tegernsee, visited the Munich Acuarium, went to the cinema, visited the BMW Welt... and of course, some Munich Biergarten, included the "compulsary" visit to Hofbräuhaus (see attached picture, jeje).
It was funny, although complicate since four people at home for several days ends up becoming kind of a big, big mess. Somehow it's fine to be alone and relaxed again, although you feel also a little bit "lonely" for some days. Well, we'll have more opportunities! :)

Final de Copa - Cup final
************************
What a pity, 1-4. No way, the FC Barcelona was much better than Athletic. At the beginning, when Athletic scored 1-0 it seemed to be posible to win, but when the Barcelona players started playing... There was no TV channel broadcasting in Germany, so I couldn't organize anything special, but I was eventually able to watch the match in Internet. Quality wasn't great, difficult to watch the details and tiring for the eyes, but at least I could watch it and not just stay listening to some online Bilbao radios. Well, at least Athletic is qualified for UEFA Cup, we'll see if they are able to do something important! (watch the picture below to laugh a little bit, I had the complete party "kit", as if I were in Bilbao and not at home alone in Munich, jeje)

Virus
*****************************
Well, it seems not to have been a great return to Munich... I thought it was flue, but I came back with an virus infection in my liver, so after a week in which I ended up twice at the hospital, I've been sent home for at least two weeks... It's nothing terrible, not serious in the sense of dangerous, but I have to stay at home, relaxed, sleeping well, drinking much water... and being patient. There is no treatment and I just have to wait for my body to be back to the normality again. At least I can do a relatively "normal" life. I can go shopping or giving a short walk, I don't have to stay in bed... I will manage even being alone. Just relax... and patience... I won't be back to work till at least 4th May.

¡A casa! - Going home!
**************************
In some hours I'm taking the plane to go home. I'll be there for ten days. I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm having much fun, relax, and good food :)
P.S: I'm leaving Munich just when good weather arrives. I hope it's still here when I'm coming back, jeje.

No olvides las lentillas... - Don't forget the contact lenses
**************************************
Yesterday I went to the swimming pool, as I usually do twice or three time per week. I usually take my backpack to work and then, going back home I just stop by the swimming pool. It's the best way to avoid the laziness! I did so yesterday, but I forgot one small detail I never had so far... I didn't put the contact lenses in the backpack. Well, three options, going home (no, I was already inside and had paid), swim with the glasses (I can't, I always swim with my head in the water) or just swim without seeing well. I decided to do this, I can't see well, so what? It's not so important, just be careful. I hardly can see (I have nearly 7 dioptries) but it is not that bad for swimming... Well, I was just going downstairs and I fell down, I didn't see well the steps! I didn't hurt me, but I could have, and I just stayed in the corner of the pool doing some exercises for my knees, don't take a risk if you see nothing at all :)

Invierno de verdad - Real Winter
It's already been almost three years since I came to Munich, and even if I've probably seen more snow these last Winters as in any other before, it had never been "real Winter" in Munich. Some days with snow, some pretty cold days... but nothing "extraordinary". But this year it's being different, and the last two months it has been a "permanent Winter". One week snow, the next one -10ºC, snow again, frozen fog the next week... Well, I recognise I like it, it's nice, and kind of "childhood memory", but this year I'm looking forward Spring to arrive!

Fasching (Carnaval)
****************
Yes, I was desguised like Darth Vader. It was really funny, but exhausting, since I was wearing the mask most of the time, and it was quiet hot there inside! But it was fun, specially at certain moments, for instance, when I met my "children". I'm a little bit shy and I don't usually like doing "stupid things" in front of the others, but this time was worth... and besides I was wearing the mask, jeje.

Curso de euskera - Basque language course
*************************
After some weeks I'm attending a Basque language course in the "Instituto Cervantes". Although it might look incredible, it's easier to find a Basque language course in Munich than, for instance, in Santander, jeje. It's a very small class, but very funny, because I wonder, what makes a German study Basque? I'm doing fine, it's hardly one and a half hours per week, it¡s not tiring, I like it a lot and I already knew most things, the other students have already noticed that I have a certain "advantage", jeje, and I can understand almost everything to the teacher, a very funny guy from Pamplona, when he's speaking Basque. Well, it's the beginners level, it's not that hard to understand easy things. Now that I'm fine with German I really felt like learning new languages, and I've been thinking of seriously studying Basque for a very long time. The funny thing is that I'm doing it in Germany, isn't it?

Trabajar... y trabajar...
************************
It must be a little bit strange, but from time to time I do some small tasks for my university, apart the daily work at the patent office. I don't receive anything, it's just for "pleasure" and to help a little, but I recognise I like doing this, it's kind of motivation for me. However, the days I carry out these little tasks, I have obviously to do it at home, in my spare time... it means I come back home after work... to keep on working. It's hard, a little bit "masochistic", and these days or weeks I'm always very, very tired, but I don't know why I feel the pleasure of doing something I like, which is nice and that I help. But this weekend I'm going to sleep very well, jeje.

Volley playa... ¡en Alemania y en pleno invierno!
*******************************
Certainly, everything can be invented. There is no beach in Munich? They bring it here... Winter is cold in Munich? No problem, it's "Summer"... Yesterday I went to play beach volley to some facilities near my home, a mixture between beach volley courts and a pub, pretending to show a "Summer" atmosphere in Winter, averything covered by sand, beach chairs... Certainly funny. I went with French friends to celebrate the birthday of two of the girls, and well, very well, really funny I had much fun, I ran and jumped a lot, although everything has a "price", jejej, moreover when you become sedentary. My knees are hurt me this morning, despite I wore knee pads, but this seems to have been usual stuff for almost a year. The worst was that I forgot that the nails can't be too short playing with a ball, so I hurt them and I've been bleeding, I hardly can grab things this morning, jeje. Anyways, much fun, really funny, specially when you think you are wearing shorts, walking on sand and with 23ºC, and outside -5ºC and the streets are still covered by snow, jeje. It's certainly much more "real" in Laredo, with a real beach and no snow, jeje, but it's not bad, we'll have to repeat one day. When I receive the pictures I will publish some, either here (I still have to check how to do it) or in Facebook. Kisses/hugs!

Back again
My first doubt when I write a blog is "what language?" Well, I think I will try to write either in English or Spanish, according to the situation, so that everybody who knows me can understand. If for any reason I think it's more appropriate in French or German I will do it as well. Sorry for those who won't understand!
I think this is a good beginning. Let's see if this works out!
Liebe Grüße aus München!
